Farmers for Soil Health Enrollment: What to Know for Fall 2026 Enrollment

The Farmers for Soil Health enrollment platform officially reopens on May 1, 2026 for Fall 2026 cover crop planting. Farmers will now recieve $35/acre under one-year contracts with a 2,000-acre cap per entity.

To be eligible for payment, producers must:

  • Complete all field-specific questions regarding cover crop management, organic status, irrigation, etc.

  • Upload the following documentation:
    • Current W-9
    • Current Subsidiary Print
    • Current FSA maps for each enrolled field
    • Current FSA-156ez for each enrolled farm
    • NRCS CPA-52

  • Provide secondary verification of cover crop planting, such as FSA-578 forms, seed receipts, photographs, or application records. This may expedite payment if remote sensing data is insufficient.
