Farmers for Soil Health Enrollment: What to Know Before June 30
The Farmers for Soil Health enrollment platform officially reopened on May 23, following a pause that began on February 12. Farmers who planted cover crops ahead of the 2025 crop year but were unable to enroll during the previous window may now do so. The enrollment period will remain open through June 30.
To be eligible for payment, producers must:
Complete all field-specific questions regarding cover crop management, organic status, irrigation, etc.
Upload the following documentation:
• W-9
• Year 2025 Subsidiary Print
• FSA maps for each enrolled field
• FSA-156ez for each enrolled farmProvide secondary verification of cover crop planting, such as FSA-578 forms, seed receipts, photographs, or application records. This may expedite payment if remote sensing data is insufficient.
Producers who enrolled and planted cover crops ahead of the 2024 crop year may be eligible for a second-year payment if they planted cover crops in advance of the 2025 crop year. To re-enroll, participants must log in to the enrollment platform, click “re-enroll,” and submit a new 2025 Subsidiary Print before payment can be issued.
